ADHDFamilies

Sorry for the lack of posts around here for the past few days.  After messing around with numerous different themes and layouts, I decided that it was a necessary evil to take some time and design a theme specifically for the way I would like to see information laid out here at ADHDFamilies.

While there was one theme that nearly did everything that I wanted it to, it had the unfortunate drawback of not being open source, and one of the basic tenants of this site is that it is free.  Free for you to use, free to be republished…

I still can’t seem to find a theme that fits the way i want this blog to work.  I think I’ve been spoiled on my cooking blog. (Of course that theme took 3 months of hard work to get where I wanted it.)  Be warned that I’ll be tweaking this one until I get something that i feel actually conveys the feeling that I would like ADHDFamilies to have, and for now, this theme ain’t it!

Once again I’m going to apologize in advance for the mess I’m about to make around here. Although the theme I had chosen for ADHDFamilies is functional, I’m finding that I’m just not married to it, nor does it do much to highlight the content put forward here. Frankly, I want a theme that’s going to make people want to hang out and look around and I just don’t feel the current theme is doing that.

At some point today I’ll be installing yet another look for ADHDFamilies. I’ve chosen it based on the unique requirements of this site so…

It seems that the theme I was running here at ADHDFamilies had some issues, and that the site pages were broken.  The new theme repairs these issues, but I’m afraid it’s going to take a bit of work to get it looking the way I would like.  Unfortunately, this process will take a while, as it is not as important as a few other tasks I must complete first.  Please bear with me!

Sorry for the lapse in anything interesting to say, folks.  I’ve spent the last week and-a-half dealing with a particularly nasty head cold.  You know the kind I’m talking bout.  The kind that doesn’t really make you sick, but rather leaves your head filled with some sort of mental “fuzz” that makes comprehending the written word an exercise in utter futility. The kind that removes any trace of energy from your being, making the thought of getting up for coffee seem as inviting as a trip to the dentist for multiple root canals.

Yeah, that kind.

For the first time…

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Holiday season.  If you or someone in your family have ADHD this time of the year can be a bit trying at times.  Now that the season has passed and we’re all back to routine I’m sure things will settle back in to a more comfortable pace for everyone.

Welcome to the new year!  i hope that whatever resolutions you made come to fruition, that you all find happiness and prosperity, and that whatever lemons life throws at you make darned good lemonade!

I bet it looked for a moment like I was one of the great disappearing ADHD bloggers.

Well, I’m not.

Sorry for the lapse, but I’ve been in a head cold induced stupor for the past-week-and-a-half.  It’s rare that I’m sick enough to avoid the computer, let alone blogging, but to be honest, it just felt better to lie on the sofa and stare at the television.  When I did blog, it was to update my food blog, which is my primary source of revenue.  Even my wiriting and personal blogs have been neglected.

Kinda sad, really.

If you’ve gotten a Page Not Found error when coming to this site through a search engine, I humbly apologize. I realized that my permalink structure was set incorrectly. IE, it wasn’t giving page names that meant anything to human beings.

Unfortunately, correcting this may cause a day or so of temporary errors. These will sort themselves out as soon as the big G! re-indexes the site and discovers the changes. this happens frequently, so for now, please feel free to use the navigation to the left.

We’re moving to a new theme, and for the next few days things will probably be a little chaotic around here.  As with most “out of the box” themes, this one is nearly, but not quite, perfect for what we’re doing.  within the next few days we’ll have it tweaked to perfecction and won’t have to worry about it any more.
